Open House at HMS for Incoming 6th Grade Students on August 10, 2010.

Just as it is an exciting time for students and parents to make the next step in their education and move to a new educational and activity filled environment at Hillsboro City Schools, it is also a time of fear, uncertainty and increased responsibility for all students. It is for these reasons we would like to open the doors of Hillsboro Middle School on August 10, 2010. We hope this evening will help ease some anxieties, get everyone excited and prepared for the start of a new and successful year. The open house will begin promptly at 6:00 PM in the Auditeria with an introduction of staff including 6th Grade Teachers and Middle School Guidance Counselor. During this time general expectations and logistics of the student's school day will be shared. At approximately 6:30 teachers will return to their room for students and parents to explore the building and take a few moments to visit their classrooms and ask specific questions of their teachers. Our new Guidance Counselor, Ms. Mallory Reed will also be available for specific questions and concerns. The evening will conclude at 7:30 PM.
This evening is focused on the incoming 6th Grade students and their families. There will also be an Open House for grades 6 through 12 on August 12, 2010 from 4:00 to 6:00 PM. If you can not make either of these dates and would like some more information or take a tour of the building before the first day of school please contact Mr. Snively or Ms. Reed at 393-9877.
