HMS Donates To Samaritan Outreach

January 04, 2010
The Hillsboro Middle School 7th grade math teachers collected canned food and money donations from Thanksgiving break up until the Winter Break.
In past years, the teachers have given the donations to several different charities. In 2007, the donation of $120 went to the Animal Shelter. In 2008, the donation of $930 went to the Homeless Shelter. This year the students decided to bring in canned goods, as well as money donations. They really outdid themselves. Our total donation was 608 cans and $670.
There was a friendly competition between the two teams of 7th grade students. Ms. Knippen's team narrowly defeated Mr. Callahan's team. The totals collected this year went to the Samaritan Outreach Center where there is a large need. These donations were greatly appreciated!! Thank you to all the students/staff/community that brought in donations.
