Construction Completion Deadline Draws Near
June 28, 2009
As June comes to an end and the July completion date approaches, the new high school middle school complex is one busy place. Finishing touches, room cleaning, furniture placement, network connections, climate control balancing, paving and grass seeding are among the may activities one will see taking place at the construction site.
Life safety testing is scheduled to begin in a couple of weeks, and certificates of occupancy are anticipated in time to begin the school year in the new building in Mid-August.

| 07/22/2009 | so has anyone found out if they are having scramblers in the school Moderator Comment: even without scramblers, given the location, and size of the building and all the brick and steel of the building, you won't get much of a phone signal... of course that won't be a problem since student don't have cell phones right? ;-) |

| 07/22/2009 | I think the new school looks great. But there's one mistake that the workers did. They should keep the wall colors to a minor level instead of making wild colors. This also includes the floors. Why would they want to put colors like yellow, blue, green, purple, and so on? I mean, I know that it can improve on your accedemics, according to some " test" that the state studied on. Why can't you just leave the colors white, because all of those colors that are all over the inside of the new school are the colors of our rivals in other schools. White would be basic. And you probably wouldn't use red because the "study" says it gets people more angry. The state government used ohio tax to do this study on colors that would make us "smarter". They could of used that money for possible text books or something like that. I say just keep it white, people. At least do one thing smart. You've already made one mistake by wasting a good old school building and soon to be torn down. So please just use your commen sence, at least once. |

| 07/29/2009 | We're all so lucky to be moving into such a great facility!! For those of you who are concerned about the colors, I got a sneak peak of the school and there are plenty of things in red and white! The other colors look great too, and it's all very tasteful. Trust me, when you walk in that building, the only thought you have about our rival schools is how much nicer our building is than theirs! I've been in many different school buildings in various school systems, and the people of Hillsboro have to be commended for allowing the construction of THE most functional and state of the art school building I have ever been in. I can't wait! |

| 08/01/2009 | I herd that school might not start till after fair week is that true? MODERATOR COMMENT: That is just a rumor. There has been no discussion of delaying the start of school. So far, barring any unforeseen problems, the building seems to be on track for the August 17th school opening. |

| 08/31/2009 | I think it is ridiculous that you only give us 3 minutes to get to our lockers in between classes. Because we are so crowded it takes about a min to even get to our lockers, and when you have classes spread out, upstairs and downstairs, its especially hard cuzz it takes like 2 minutes to get up or down the stairs with all the people rushing around. If you dont want so many tardies, give us 5 minutes in between classes. |
