Classroom Web Pages Catching On

May 18, 2010

During the last few months several Hillsboro City Schools' classroom teachers have taken the initiative to develop and publish their own classroom pages on the Hillsboro City Schools Web Site. After a brief training, these teachers worked on their own to create their own web site. All articles in a given teacher's section are completely developed, published, and up-dated by the individual teacher. These classroom web pages are used to communicate academic content to students, communicate assignments and classroom information to students and parents, provide links to Internet resources, and showcase student work.

To find these web pages, navigate to a school's section of the web using the links  in gray at the top of the page (just below the masthead). Once in the school's section look at the navigation links on the left. On the high school and middle school sections look for the link labeled "Teacher Pages", on the elementary site look for links labeled "Early Childhood Center Teacher Pages", "Primary School Teacher Pages", "Intermediate School Teacher Pages", and "Teacher Pages". As you mouse over these links, fly-outs will appear showing you which teachers have pages in that section.

Some of the classroom pages are currently highlighted on the front page of our web site. Other teacher sites include: Mr. Hunt; Mr Brady; Mrs. Badger, Mrs. Burke; Mrs Mull, Mrs. Murphy; Mrs. Schraw; Mrs. Storer, and Mrs. Whiting. Click any of these links to check out the pages.

If you appreciate the extra effort these teacher have gone to, I hope you will let them know. Enjoy the sites. Watch for more coming soon.
