a tutorial for parents
December 19, 2008
Note To Parents and Students:
Parent Access passwords were reset this week. Elementary parent passwords will be sent home later this week. High School and Middle School student passwords will be distributed to students early in the week of September 14th with parent password to mailed home later that week.
What Is Parent Access ProgressBook?
Parent Access is a web-based component of ProgressBook that enables parents and students to view certain information about their students' school progress from any Internet connected computer. The Parent Access Web Site displays students' averages, progress details, report cards, attendance, schedules, homework, classroom information, events, and other school information in secure, read-only format.
How Do I Use Parent Access ProgressBook?
To use the Parent Access Web Site, click the "Parent & Student ProgressBook" button on the right side of any of the Hillsboro City Schools' web pages in the "For Parents"," For Students", "For Teachers" sections, or any of the school sections. You can also reach the ProgressBook login page by typing "https://parent.mveca.org/General/LoginPage.aspx?DistrictID=23" in any web browser.
Use the login or username and password your school has provided to login to the Parent Access Web Site. If you do not know this username and password, contact the guidance counselor at your child's school. Once you have logged in with that information, you may change your login name and password, if you desire.
Also, once logged in, you may use the links and tabs on the page to view information regarding your child's progress at school.
Checking ProgressBook daily is a great way to help keep parents, students, and the teachers in close communication about a child's assignments, grades, and attendance at school.

| 09/19/2009 | Why is it taking so long to reset the passwords? As parents we can't moniter the progress and help our kids. The Elementary had there passwords 2 weeks ago! I am still waiting on my middle school students information. It would of been nice to have them timely! Moderator Comment: Your comment will be relayed to the appropriate individual. However, I believe passwords have been distributed. If you do not have it, please call the High school guidance department at 937-393-4417. |

| 10/23/2009 | It would be nice if teachers were held to the same standard as the students and be required to post grades and homework assignments timely on progress book. What is the point of this awesome system if teachers are too lazy to use it. I have to e-mail my childs teachers for current grades because it is not on progress book. It would of been nice to know my child was having problems in a class long before the nine weeks ended. When your child has an A on progress book and you e-mail and it is lower that is a real problem. As a parent I can't help my child if I am seeing incorrect information. Please require teachers to use there planning periods to update grades. Otherwise progress book is a waste of money. Students are required to turn in assignments on time why can't the teachers be held to the same standard. My child has grades from September that have yet to be posted this is unacceptable. |
