This years theme is Space.

Grade level teachers will be planning activities for this week. Look for information from your child’s teacher.

Preschool Graduation 6:00 in Cafe' B.

May 14th

3rd Grade Field Trip (Session Three)

Purtee/Irvin/Oxley

They will be attending the Greenacres Foundation in Indian Hill to explore ponds, life cycles and water quality.

 

May 14th

4th and 5th Grade Track & Field Day at the High School.

4th Grade students will attend in the morning &

5th Grade students will attend in the afternoon.

 

 

May 15th

INDIAN CARDS ARE ON SALE NOW!!
The 8th Grade class is currently selling Indian Cards to help pay for their Washington D.C. trip in the spring.  The cost of the card is $10.00. You may purchase Indian Cards through a student who is currently in 8th grade or at the Middle School Office.

Perfect Attendance

Mrs. Hoop is honoring Shaylin Neal. Shaylin had perfect attendance for the 2014-15 school year. Her name has been added to the plaque which is hanging in the Middle school. Congratulations Shaylin!

PSAT at HHS on Oct. 14

Hillsboro high school will be giving the PSAT on October 14th.  10th and 11th grade students can register for the PSAT now - August 28th. Students should bring $15 at the time of sign up. Some fee waivers are available. See Mrs. Juillerate in the high school office to register.


HHS Counselors to Host College Visits
The guidance department will be hosting college visits. The dates are:
September 25 - Central State University
October 16 - Shawnee State University
April 1 - University of Rio Grande
Visits are open to all juniors/seniors with a 2.2 GPA and are currently in good academic standing.  Sign-ups will be in the guidance department.

Our HS Football scrimmage with Adena has been rescheduled to Friday , Aug. 14th 5:00pm

 


ACT Prep Class Approaching

On Saturday, August 29th OUC is offering a non-credit ACT prep class on campus. This is a perfect opportunity for your students to prepare for the test this coming fall/spring. The information for the course is listed on the Continuing Education page on OU's website at http://www.ohio.edu/chillicothe/community/index.cfm.  


Change to Wednesday Schedule

The HCS Board of Education has approved a change to Wednesday schedule. Schools will now be on a one-hour early release schedule every Wednesday for Teacher-Based-Team meetings.

Hillsboro Middle School Eighth Grade Visits Washington D.C.
 
Eighth Grade Students from Hillsboro Middle School toured Washington DC and Gettysburg PA from April 8-10, 2015. Highlights from the trip included a tour of the US Capitol, a performance at Ford's Theater, a wreath ceremony at Arlington National Cemetery, and a tour at Gettysburg. Also, students visited The Korean Memorial, The Vietnam Memorial, The FDR Memorial, The WWII Memorial, The Lincoln Memorial, The Martin Luther King Memorial, The Smithsonian of Air and Space, and other sites and attractions.

National Honor Society Induction Held

Hillsboro Middle School National Junior Honor Society held  induction on Thursday February 12, 2015. Forty-three 7th and 8th graders joined the twenty-nine 8th grade members that were inducted last year. This year Ms. Pam Limes was our featured speaker.
