CCP Meeting on Thursday, January 25 at 6:30 PM

There will be a College Credit Plus (CCP) meeting at 6:30 PM on Thursday, January 25 in the high school cafeteria. Students who will be entering grades 7-12 next year that would like to take college credit classes must attend this meeting and it is for both students and parents. If you are currently enrolled in CCP classes, you are not required to attend this meeting. For additional questions, contact Tina Young or Jessica Rhoades at 393-3485.

Senior T-Shirts on Sale 1/22 through 1/26

Senior t-shirts will be on sale next week 1/22 to 1/26.  They will be sold before school and during lunch. For questions, contact Joni Layne at 393-3485. Click here for an order form.

Yearbook sales for the Elementary and Middle School will run from January 29 through March 2.

Athletic Event Updates

Due to the inclement weather we've experienced, several middle and high school athletic events have been rescheduled over the past couple of weeks. Please click here to view changes. Please note that schedules are subject to change.

Upcoming Events at Hillsboro Elementary

Hillsboro Elementary has several activities scheduled for the end of January. The first grade PTO fun day is scheduled for the 24th after school. Additionally, Right to Read Week is scheduled to take place January 29 - February 2. Also, students with good behavior will be recognized during the high school girls basketball games on Wednesday, January 31. 

Hillsboro High School Announces December Students of the Month

Hillsboro High School would like to recognize the following students for being selected as the December students of the month: Alexis S., Sassy R., Breanna G., Hannah C. (not pictured) and Liahna B. (not pictured.)

Hillsboro Middle School Holds Spelling Bee

On Thursday, January 11, 2018, Hillsboro Middle School held its annual spelling bee with Duncan P. being crowned the champion. The runner-up was Riley B. and Sara N. was the third-place winner. NCB awarded a $50 gift card to the first-place winner and a $25 gift card to the runner-up. The third-place winner received two movie passes to Star Cinemas. Duncan P. will participate in a computer-based semifinal round. Seventy of the top scorers in the semifinals will qualify for the WCPO 9 On Your Side Regional Spelling Bee in March. Pictured (l-r) are Duncan P., Riley B. and Sara N.

With an enrollment of nearly 2,700 students, Hillsboro City School District is the largest of the five public schools systems in rural Highland County. The district boundaries encompass the city of Hillsboro (county seat of Highland County) as well as much of the surrounding rural area in central Highland County.

In addition to the traditional high school curricula, Hillsboro High School offers extensive curricular options in Advanced Placement Courses, Post-Secondary Courses, and outstanding options in Vocational Agriculture and Fine Arts.

Hillsboro, Ohio is located in the gently rolling hills of scenic Highland County, Ohio at the junction of US Highway 50 and US Highway 62.
With a population of  6,368 (according to the US Census Bureau, 2000), the quiet town  can be reached by travelling East from Cincinnati along US Route 50 or by travelling South-West from Columbus on US Route 62.

According to the US Census Bureau report for the 2000 Census*  the population of Hillsboro is 45.3% male and 54.7% female. The population's racial mixture is 91.8% White, 6.9% black, 1.3% Asian, and 0.7% American Indian. 41% of the 25 year and older population have achieved a high school diploma and 31.9% have education beyond high school 4.7% with Bachelor's Degrees and 6.2% with professional or graduate degrees. The mean household income is $25,998.(*http://censtats.census.gov/data/OH/1603935560.pdf)
